Kristen McGehee

Kristen McGehee is senior vice president of operations for the Northeast Division at VITAS Healthcare, the nation’s leading provider of end-of-life care. Kristen oversees operations of VITAS programs serving Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. 

With 20 years of experience in post-acute care delivery, Kristen has a proven track record of change management and continuous improvement, applying lean methodologies to meet organizational goals and improve the patient experience. 

In 2024, Kristen joined the VITAS team through the acquisition of Covenant Care’s hospice operations where she served as chief operating officer (COO) at the time. As COO, she drove operational, clinical, and financial performance for service lines including home health, hospice, palliative care, pediatrics, memory care, and private duty. Prior to her appointment as COO, Kristen served as associate vice president of innovation, leading expansion projects and implementation of a new electronic medical record. She also served as associate vice president of hospice services and senior director during her tenure, overseeing daily and long-term operations of hospice programs, maximizing productivity, and driving strategic initiatives.  

Kristen received a bachelor’s degree in social work from Mississippi College and a master’s degree in social work with a specialization in Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia from Baylor University in Waco, Texas.  

She is a member of the National Alliance for Care at Home Hospice Advisory Council.
