As my husband’s two-year battle with cancer was coming to an end, VITAS enabled him to spend his final days at home, where he was surrounded by sights and sounds familiar to him.

The caregivers could not have been more considerate of Steve and me. Marvin and Myrna were outstanding, taking my needs/concerns into account as well as seeing to my husband’s care in a compassionate manner.

Myrna was as concerned with my well-being as she was with my husband's, making sure I ate and didn’t stay in the hot sun too long while I relieved Steve tending to our garden.

Marvin was with us at the time of Steve’s passing. I feel blessed that Marvin was with me to ease me through this trying time.

Myrna and Marvin are not only outstanding caregivers. They are exceptional human beings.

This is a wonderful organization!!! I don't know what I would have done without their help. Since the very first day I dealt with them, they have helped me and my mother through some very scary times.

Right now, my mom is in a SNF, and without VITAS, I would have no clue how my mom is doing.

Between Chaplain Paul and Busayo, the case manager nurse, they see my mom every week and always call me afterwards for updates. Without them, I would be a nutcase due to the lack of communication at the SNF.

I will never be able to express my gratitude for their compassion and love they show each and every day. If you ever need hospice, please don't hesitate to count on VITAS!

I feel blessed and fortunate to have made the acquaintance of Claudia D. at the precise moment when I needed the services of VITAS Healthcare the most. Claudia took excellent care of my mother-in-law before she passed away two years ago. More recently, she took excellent care of my brother-in-law before he passed away last year.

Claudia is one of the most compassionate healthcare professionals I have ever encountered. Claudia took care of my family members as if they were her own family members. She even gave me her cell phone number so that I could get updated status reports on my relatives. This was important to me because I live in New York, and my relatives live in Miami. Claudia was accessible to me 24 hours a day.

My family passed away, but Claudia made them feel cared for until the very last second of their lives. I doubt if any other healthcare professional can be as kind and humane as Claudia.

We had a very brief (less than 24 hours) experience with VITAS, but it was very positive.

We made arrangements with VITAS from the emergency room when my brother did not want any further treatment for liver cancer.

VITAS sent all the equipment and medication to his home. They got the hospital bed set up and the furniture arranged while my brother waited several hours for ambulance transport.

Shortly after he arrived home about 10 p.m. on Friday, two VITAS nurses came. They bathed him, changed his hospital gown and bed linens, and made him very comfortable. They demonstrated how to give the pain medication and said that a nurse would come in the morning.

I slept in the same room with my brother and realized that after a few hours he had stopped breathing. I called the nurse, and she came at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, checked him, and pronounced him dead.

She notified the doctor, funeral director, etc. She told me when to expect the funeral home to come for the body. She asked if I needed to speak to a social worker, gave me a phone number, and asked if I needed anything. She offered her sympathy and said that VITAS would offer continued support. These nurses could not have done more even though it was the weekend, they hadn’t even had time to get familiar with my brother, and our journey started at a late hour on a weekend.

The chaplain came to the funeral home and offered his support. VITAS contacted us several times by phone and letter offering support. I would use VITAS again and highly recommend VITAS to anyone needing a hospice care agency.

VITAS is beyond wonderful. We had Nonna in hospice care with another company where our experience was truly horrible, so we switched over to VITAS.

From the moment they took over, everything changed. Not only were they better, they were like a different universe. The staff was always kind to our whole family, but especially Nonna.

From the nurse who assessed her VITAS to the team that helped her settle in to her nurses, aide, physical therapist and music therapist, Nonna was always treated with kindness and love. She loved every single one of them, especially her nurses and aide.

When Nonna worsened, the crisis care team was with us every step of the way. Even the doctor came to visit and give us guidance. When her symptoms could no longer be managed at home, we let them take her to their hospice wing at the Lake Wales hospital, where they finally were able to get her comfortable. Two days later, she passed peacefully.

The staff at the hospice wing were just as wonderful as the rest of VITAS. The morning she passed, we were getting ready to come and visit when the nurse called to tell us she had just passed. She asked what her favorite music was and played it for Nonna.

Even now, a month after her passing, the staff has reached out several times to make sure we are okay. I cannot say enough good things about this wonderful group of caregivers and highly recommend them for your loved ones. Our only regret is that we didn’t have VITAS from the beginning of Nonna’s hospice care, but we take comfort in knowing that the final months of her life were spent under the care of angels on Earth.

We will be forever grateful.

VITAS Healthcare came to care for my mother-in-law after her seventh fall. She was in and out of the hospital and nursing homes, and I just couldn’t see her go back. The hospital said she could go home with me only if she were under hospice care.

I had no idea it was coming and just chose from a list. I chose VITAS because the name sounded like my hometown of Vista. I really didn’t know what I was going to get.

I brought my mother-in-law home, and within two hours, VITAS was in my home checking on her. They had a hospital bed, commode, and a lot of other instruments that I would need to care for my mother-in-law delivered the same evening.

They initially sent medications through the mail. They sent a nurse named Sandy weekly. Once or twice the doctor came as well. Twice a week they sent a healthcare aide named Helen to bathe her. They knew I didn’t have much help and also sent Jackie, a volunteer, weekly for two hours. This was a huge help.

Not only did they provide medical knowledge, but I needed them to visit with me as well and provide me the support when her own children would not help me through this difficult time. This went on for about three months, and then one day she passed away.

It’s been two months now, and I have seen Jackie as well as Sandy, the nurse, a couple times.

Today, Sandy brought over some teddy bears that were made of clothes my mother-in-law loved. There are volunteers in this organization that make bears! It’s just amazing how far they go to support the families of the dying.

I’m not a religious person, but they did have a chaplain who made an extra effort to reach out multiple times and I need to say thank you to her as well. Her name is Linda.

Thank you to all the VITAS personnel that work behind the scenes to make the experience five star. I really appreciate you all.

My mother was under the care of VITAS Team 1175 until her death a few months ago.

It was very difficult to see my mother's decline. The team at VITAS, including the doctor, the nurse, the home health aide, the social worker, and the chaplain, took us both—my mother as the patient and me as the caregiver—under their wing throughout this arduous time. We were incredibly fortunate to have them.

Of the team, the one member that really stuck out was the nurse. Her compassion and professionalism brought us comfort and peace when we needed it most. She treated both of us with dignity and respect, always taking the time to explain every step and truly listen to my concerns. Her gentle presence made a profound difference. We will never forget her kindness. Fast forward three months later, and she still reaches out and lends her support. She truly is an angel.

VITAS Healthcare has been a gift to us. My husband has Alzheimer’s and kidney failure. The nurses, the nurse practitioners, the doctors, and everyone else have provided us with outstanding care. At the beginning, he needed a visit only once a week, but now they’re coming through in every crisis, with every wound, and every problem. Someone is always there for us. We would like to thank everyone that has come into our life to give us support and the tools to deal with our situation. Thank you, VITAS, for making a difference in our lives.

VITAS is a top-notch organization with the most amazing staff. My father, Garry J., was under their care. I would like to share the thank-you note I sent them.

“I would like to thank everyone at VITAS who took such great care of my Dad, Garry Jackson.

Thank you, Chaplain Roland, for checking on our well-being and putting a smile on my daddy’s face.

Pastor Chris, you’re simply the best! What more can I say? We deeply appreciate your wonderful message at Dad's service.

Erica, thank you for checking on Dad multiple times a day while he was in the hospital. You provided us much strength. And Crystal and Angela, thanks for taking care of Dad's daily needs. I know he had many. Our family appreciates each and every one of you deeply!”

I don't often write testimonials, but I feel compelled to share the amazing experience I am having with VITAS. They came to me during one of the most heartbreaking and desperate times of my life. Watching my once vibrant and dynamic mother—full of care, compassion, and light—slowly dim is truly devastating. However, by the grace of God, I was met with people willing to help me navigate this difficult moment.

Two of the people who have truly changed this time are Daphne and Rose. They have been incredible! There are days when my mom and I feel overwhelmed with pain and worries, but when they walk through the door, everything changes. My mom knows her angels have arrived, and her face reflects a light that I don’t always see now.

It’s not just what they do, but how they do it! Every touch and every word is delivered with a servant's heart, full of grace and mercy, and overflowing with care. I am eternally grateful for everything. Words will never be enough to express my gratitude.

I have also found it amazing that the manager is always accessible—literally just a call away—something that is so rare during these times in any business. This has made my life so easy.

Finally, I cannot conclude without giving a special thank you to Vilmarie, the social worker, and Roland, the chaplain. They are wonderful and have both provided me with comfort in moments of despair.

This experience with VITAS Healthcare has brought comfort in a time where I didn't know I could find it. It has taken my fractured heart and mind and somehow mended it enough to help me keep going.

Amazing caregivers at the end stage of life. Took great care and compassion with my father and me in his last few days on this earthly plane.

The volunteers also need to be mentioned. They use their time and talents to help people heal after loss and in the brewing of the grief journey.

Highly recommend this organization.

My uncle Ken was in the VITAS facility in Carrollton, Texas. From the first moment we walked on the floor, the staff were truly unbelievable. Each employee was competent and truly cared about my uncle’s care.

Joyce gave him a shave and rearranged him. Racine called me on her personal phone to let my uncle speak with me. Brittany, the floor manager, explained inpatient hospice. David walked us through the entire process.

I never worried about his care when I couldn’t be there. VITAS should be held as the gold standard for care, and I applaud their work, as I know it is not easy. I want to thank each one for their love and service.

I was beyond satisfied with the care that was given to my father until the end. All staff seem to go above and beyond to make my father comfortable. They were even concerned about how I was, and they constantly gave updates on my father's care, which was beyond what I expected. Overall, the experience with this company and staff was outstanding. Can't say enough how pleased I was!

The VITAS hospice team was excellent at communicating with family members. I appreciated the care provided by the head nurse, Joelle, and the chaplain, Crawford, who went above and beyond his duties to talk with me, consult about my mom, and help brainstorm ideas to help make a good plan. The team was also incredibly helpful in helping me create a smooth transition when moving my mom to a different state.

My mom (Nellie) was a patient with VITAS. I was very pleased with her level of care from your agency. Everyone that came in contact with my mom from your agency did an amazing and caring job providing support for her and my daughter and me.

I'd like to thank Ms. Jennifer, Ms. Tonya, Ms. Theresa, Ms. Yasmin, Ms. Shakeria, Mr. McCoy the chaplain, Mr. Scott, Ms. Tiffany, and the night nurse that came the morning of my mom's passing. She did an amazing job handling and calling the funeral home and providing comfort. Extra thanks to anyone I may have missed. VITAS provided great care, service, supplies, and equipment for me to have my mom at home. I thank you all so very much.

If you are in need of support for a loved one at home, please call VITAS. They provided everything that I needed. Thank you all again for providing caring and comforting service for us.

I recently toured the Fort Worth facility in preparation for placing my mother there for respite care, and I have to say—this is by far the nicest facility I’ve ever visited. Over the past eight years of caring for my mom, we’ve had experience with several nursing and care facilities, and none have come close to the quality and warmth we experienced here.

My mother has been on hospice care for about a year, supported by the wonderful team at VITAS. The VITAS staff we've worked with have been consistently compassionate and professional, and it's clear they have a strong partnership with the facility.

I was thoroughly impressed by every aspect of the tour, and I can say with complete confidence that I feel 100% at ease having my mother stay here while we're out of town. The level of care and attention to detail gave me great peace of mind.

Well, I first experienced the VITAS angels with my dad, who was diagnosed with liver cancer in February 2025 and passed on April 22, 2025. Team 105 was absolutely great. It was a very peaceful time.

On May 19, 2025, my mom began to decline from dementia and a broken heart due to my father's passing. Shortly thereafter, my mom passed on June 8, 2025. We lost both of our parents a month apart. My siblings and myself would have never been able to give the care and support that the VITAS angels provided to my mom.

From the doctors to the nurses to the HHA and staff, everyone was excellent. I thank Valerie, Fareed, Yani, Chaplin Peter, Lorretta, Audrey, Christen, Osly, and Daniela. Every single person in VITAS was hands-on and professional.

Living in Europe, it brings me immense comfort knowing that VITAS is caring for my 85-year-old father. The regular text message updates, often including pictures or videos after each visit from wonderful caregivers like Marie & Marlen, are incredibly convenient and help bridge the distance created by the time difference. It means the world to receive these timely updates and see with my own eyes the care he's receiving.

From the very beginning, VITAS clearly explained the process and introduced the dedicated care team who would be looking after my dad, including Nurse Marlen (who is always so responsive), HHA Marie, Chaplain Garth, Social Worker Miracle, and physician Dr. E. This clear communication was so reassuring.

What has also impressed me deeply is that I have had the opportunity to speak with each member of my dad's care team numerous times. Every single person – from Marlen to Marie, Garth, Miracle, and Dr. Evancho – is consistently dedicated, caring, and takes the time and patience to answer any and all questions that I have, no matter how small. This level of communication and commitment is truly exceptional.

More importantly, it's evident that this entire VITAS team provides truly compassionate and dedicated care. My father always seems happy and content when he is in their hands, which speaks volumes about their kindness and professionalism.

It's also been incredibly comforting to know that the team works so closely with Dr. E. in making decisions about my dad's care, ensuring a holistic and well-coordinated approach. You can genuinely tell that they all care deeply about their patients. I am so grateful for the peace of mind VITAS provides me, knowing my dad is being so well looked after by such a wonderful and communicative team.

Thank you for your exceptional service and for treating my father with such dignity and kindness.

My husband came home on hospice Dec. 8, 2024.

It was a very hard time for all of us. The hospice staff did everything to help things go smoothly for the entire family. In January, his final day, he wound up at the inpatient unit. The doctors, nurses, chaplains, and support staff took very good care of him. They were very good with us and the rest of his family.

VITAS Team 147 in Broward County, Florida, cared for my dad, Gerald M. They provided the most compassionate love for him for almost six months of his fabulous life. He passed on 5/23/24, two days shy of his 95th birthday.

The nursing team with Natalie V.M. and social worker Elizabeth C. are remarkable people. Elizabeth provided year-long care for me, too. I chose several shirts for the volunteers to make bears and pillows, which I just received. This is a terrific memory that will live with me forever.

May my dad's memory be a blessing to all who knew him. May this VITAS team and everyone at VITAS Healthcare continue providing your amazing care to whomever seeks it.

My mom was unfortunately on hospice for a few days, but the team was extremely supportive in that short time. Regular visits with updates to me were really helpful. Don't try other companies. VITAS is the best. My loved one is in Frisco, Texas. Rene, Lindy, Stephanie, and Consetta are professional, kind, knowledgeable, and willing to work with me regarding changes in care, adjusting things as progression occurs. When my father entered hospice care at VITAS, it was an incredibly difficult time for him. One of the hardest parts for him was losing his independence — something he had always taken pride in. But the staff there made all the difference. They treated him with dignity, compassion, and patience, helping him feel cared for without ever making him feel less than himself.

What stood out most was how personal and comforting their care was. They took the time to get to know him, to listen, and to understand what brought him peace. One of the things he truly looked forward to was the visits from the volunteers who brought therapy dogs. He absolutely lit up during those moments — it gave him joy, comfort, and a break from the weight of his illness.

Our entire family is deeply grateful for the support we received from the team at VITAS. They created a space where my dad could be at peace and where we could focus on being with him in his final days. I can’t thank them enough for the compassion they showed during one of the most difficult times in our lives.

I cannot tell you how amazing the entire staff was. I mainly dealt with Yeison, who was the nurse assigned to take care of my mom. He was great. Our dad’s last few days were spent in two different places. He was in rehab in Voorhees Township, NJ, and then transported home to Monroe Township, NJ. Hospice care seemed insurmountable under these circumstances, but VITAS was incredibly helpful in making his wish to die peacefully at home possible.

We will never forget the kindness of the entire staff… nurses, social workers, chaplain, and even the staff supplying the needed equipment. Can’t thank you all enough for the wonderful support to the family and the care for our dad.

My brother Paul was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, and the doctor put him in hospice. I told the doctor that I wanted to have VITAS for my brother just as they did for my mother in the past.

I love the way they took care of my brother, immediately providing the bed and equipment needed for him to be comfortable at the ALF. Even more, I love the love that they showed him while caring for him. My brother, Paul, passed away on March 29 at Broward Health in Coral Springs.

I cannot express my gratitude for how they took good care of my brother there. The staff showed so much love and comfort to him and my family. I will always refer VITAS to my friends, assuring them that their loved ones will be in good hands with them. Thank you so much for the support that you gave me and my family during this difficult time.

I am grateful for the care given to my mother and father while they were on hospice. My parents were in a nursing home in Florida, and I live in New York. Willode (personal aide) and Emmanuel (nurse) were my lifeline! I knew my parents were getting excellent care and oversight. The caregiving workers were so generous in calling so I could say hello.

The VITAS social worker/caseworker, Cordella T., was extremely helpful when my mother's Medicaid renewal was due. I am the sole caregiver for my parents. It can be very overwhelming! I felt I had the VITAS team behind me, and for this I am forever grateful.

I was overwhelmed, frightened, and feeling lost and alone with proper care of my father in the late stages of dementia. VITAS stepped in to provide expert care, continuous reassurance, and direction. Much-needed equipment was expertly delivered, set up, and explained within only a few hours of being accepted to hospice. The hospital bed alone made an enormous difference in providing safer care.

The 24/7 expert help with advice and guidance was incredible. The compassionate care provided by our regular nurse, plus a special wound care nurse and an amazing aide, made his final days as comfortable and peaceful as possible.

On top of all that, the social worker and chaplain provided much-needed additional support at the most difficult time of our life.

All the VITAS members my family and I dealt with were compassionate and empathetic. They took great care to ensure that the support they provided to our mom was specifically tailored to her needs and flexible enough to evolve as her condition did.

I am writing this letter to express my deepest gratitude and appreciation for two exceptional nurses, Jazmin R. and Marisol D.V., who are caring for my 93-year-old mother during her time in hospice.

This has been one of the most difficult times in our lives, but having Jazmin and Marisol by our side has made this journey a little easier. From the very first visit, they both treated my mom with so much love, dignity, and compassion—always with a smile on their faces. They not only provided outstanding care, but they also made us feel like we were never alone. They patiently answered every question, returned every phone call, and always took their time during each visit, never making us feel rushed.

It’s not just their skills as nurses that make them special—it’s their kind hearts and the way they truly cared for my mother. Jazmin and Marisol go above and beyond in everything they do, and their dedication has brought us comfort during this incredibly difficult time.

We will forever be grateful for the care and kindness they have shown to my mother. They are a true blessing, and I believe they deserve to be recognized for the outstanding work they do every day.

Signing up for hospice for my wife, Amanda, felt like stepping into the unknown. Amanda was in the hospital, and we wanted to spend her remaining time at home together peacefully.

When we arrived home from the hospital, VITAS nurse Eli arrived to assess Amanda's needs. She left me with a binder and a schedule of upcoming visits. I had questions as soon as she left, but I had been given a phone number to call if anything came up.

In the week Amanda was home, I called frequently, and we were visited by the kindest people. I had no idea how much personal care Amanda would receive. Caregivers came in eight-hour shifts to monitor her, and they were very understanding, letting me do as much of the caregiving as possible per my request. All new medications were explained and demonstrated so I could administer them confidently.

Eli, our assigned nurse, visited frequently, and VITAS team manager Catalina checked in regularly to ensure we had everything we needed. Other team members, including caregivers and nurses, also visited to provide support and care.

When Amanda passed, the VITAS team was there to support us. They guided us through the process with kindness and compassion.

It was the most challenging time of my life, but VITAS brought us through it with love, care, and gentle support.

When our father’s health began to decline, we turned to VITAS for support, and we couldn’t be more grateful for their exceptional care. Within just 24 hours, their team came to our aid, providing us with everything we needed. From skilled nurses and compassionate aides to a dedicated social worker and chaplain, VITAS ensured that every aspect of our dad’s care was covered. They even provided essential equipment like a hospital bed and medications, making the process as smooth as possible.

Their visits were a daily source of comfort, and their availability 24/7 gave us peace of mind. Whether we had questions or needed assistance, they were always just a phone call away. The genuine compassion and professionalism they showed made a difficult time much more manageable. We were especially thankful for the communication with nurses Gus, Shawn, Matt, and Jude, who answered the many, many questions that came up and were so patient and reassuring. The care my mother received from every person we came into contact with at VITAS was exceptional. They were all very caring, compassionate, friendly, and thorough.

She was failing quickly, and she was fast-tracked for admission. The nurses picked up and delivered her medications from the local pharmacy. They explained everything my father and I needed to do for her and made changes in her care immediately if they felt it was necessary. They happily provided the services he wanted for her, and they weren't pushy at all about the ones he declined.

My mother was able to pass peacefully in her own home, which was totally important to my father. The whole experience made things much easier on my father.

Your company and the people who I have met are wonderful, but I really wanted to especially mention a very special person in your company: Madina G.❣️

She is so wonderful. I treasure her ability to take care of me, her lovely and fun personality, and everything else.❣️ She also has been wonderful in showing some of my caregivers and family who are here during the day how to do things the correct way. She has lifted me up mentally, as I am very upset that I have ALS.

I can’t thank you enough for having her as part of your company and for choosing her to take care of my needs during the week. She is fabulous and wonderful.❣️

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

My experience with VITAS was one of the greatest experiences. Everyone was very, very kind, and I appreciate the help that they provided. They went way beyond their duties, and I thank them. They were there every step away from the beginning to the end of my husband's transition.

May the Lord of Lords continue to bless each and every one of the people that attended to my husband. Team 1421 was the best team ever. I would also like to thank Jodie R. for all of her army veteran expertise and helping me with my husband's information and documentation. Blessings to each and every one.

Signing up for hospice for my husband felt like stepping off a cliff. I was plummeting into the unknown. We had absolutely no idea what hospice was, but my husband was in the hospital dying and we wanted to spend his remaining time at home together, peacefully.

I signed with VITAS and dashed home to remove our dining room furniture in preparation for his new bedroom setup. VITAS immediately brought a bed, bedside tray table, oxygen, a hoist, potty chair, mucus vacuum… much more than we could use.

When we arrived home from the hospital in an ambulance, a nurse from VITAS arrived to assess my husband. She left me with a binder and a vague schedule of who would be coming to see us. I had questions as soon as the nurse left, but I had been given a phone number to call if anything came up that I couldn’t deal with. Within the first 24 hours, I called VITAS three times. Each time, I was given excellent advice, and one time a nurse came to check on my husband.

We were treated kindly and compassionately every single step of the way by every single VITAS employee.

In the week my husband was home, I called frequently, and we were visited by the kindest people. I had no idea how much personal care my husband would receive. Caregivers came in eight hour shifts to monitor, turn, medicate, calm, and clean their patient. All new medications were given to us with demonstrations to teach me how to administer them. Yusuf, Armand, Crispina, and Ragima took turns staying with us; nurses Deb, Tas, and Virginia visited; Sabrina came to bathe my husband; and Blake, a social worker, offered services for emotional and practical needs. Deb, our assigned nurse, visited frequently. A chaplain was assigned to us, but we needed help before our scheduled appointment, so Ever M., a chaplain from 30 miles away, came to help us in the middle of the night, when a mortuary was very soon to be needed and I was very unsure of the process.

I called any time I was baffled, worried, or in need of help, and VITAS came through quickly every time—sometimes with a nurse, sometimes with advice or answers to questions.

As it became clear that some of the equipment would not be needed, VITAS came and picked it up with a reminder that they would bring it back if we needed it later.

The evening my husband passed, we had not been assigned any help, but I got a call from Crispina saying her client had passed, and she wanted to return to us. She returned just after my husband died and helped us through the process.

It was the scariest and most tragic time I have ever experienced, but VITAS brought us through it all in a very loving and gentle way.

VITAS has been everything I needed in a hospice care service. My mom has enjoyed the various services offered. Religious services by the chaplain, visits from staff, and music therapy bring smiles and happiness to my mom. She engages and emotes. It’s a good thing.

The HHA and nurses were wonderful in making Lorine feel comfortable and reassured that all would be handle well until her death. Chaplain B. made her feel confident about her final destination. All of her needs were handled in a quick manner, particularly the decisions about meds as her disease progressed. Thank you.

When our mom fell in mid-November, she was in a lot of pain and could not walk. VITAS was called in, and their nurses were wonderful! Our mom received the medication and medical supplies she needed quickly because they care very much for their clients' comfort and quality of life. They came every day to make sure she was comfortable and treated her like a queen. VITAS offers continuous care services, and they helped when our family really needed them during our mom's final days. We highly recommend VITAS!

I recently entrusted my aunt's end-of-life care to VITAS Healthcare's Team 982, including RN Akash, HHA Roger, SW Alexa, chaplain Paul, and funeral chaplain Jonah. Despite her brief time under their care, the team's compassion and professionalism were exceptional. .

They were flexible and accommodating, especially in planning a non-religious funeral service that respected my father's wishes. Jonah's dedication stood out; he contacted me on a Sunday to ensure his remarks were appropriate and arrived early at the cemetery to arrange everything.

The entire process was smooth and brought us comfort during a difficult time. While I hope others don't need hospice services, I highly recommend VITAS Healthcare's Team 982 for their exceptional care.

Marie L. did a wonderful job cleaning my husband. She was gentle and paid attention to details, washing his hair, cleaning his nails, swabbing his mouth.

Sandra, our nurse, is always available and promptly takes care of supplies.

We are extremely happy with all of our care with VITAS Team 143.

I really appreciate the professionalism and yet very personal care VITAS has provided for us. VITAS gave us the opportunity to relish the time we had with our father. They helped prepare us for what's expected and taught us how to provide care for our father in an emergency, which in turn gave us the confidence that allowed him to focus on our time together.

I cannot fully express with words how grateful and valuable the service of VITAS Healthcare was to my brother, me, and especially my father.

Thank you to Team 982: RN Prescilla; HHA Mithor; SW Alexa; Chaplain Paul and the others who filled in; RNs Maria and Roger; and the whole 24-hour crew that came in.

I hope these exceptional individuals find growth, recognition, and much success within VITAS!

Thank you!

My name is Bill O., and I am having my daughter type this for me.

I must say when the cardiologist recommended I go home under the care of hospice on 12/1/2024, I was taken back a little and discussed it with my family first. We all agreed to go forward with hospice but weren't sure exactly what to expect.

I must say our family has been so blessed and relieved at the amount of care, empathy, and compassion that we have received from every person in every department. Even the delivery people, who dropped off the POC and took the time to explain how to use the machine, and those who came to disable my defibrillator for me.

Ms. Amy, the admissions nurse, was very thorough in explaining everything that would happen. She listened well and answered every question.

Ms. Tammy has been our regular nurse on Mondays, and we just can't say enough wonderful things about her and every other nurse who has been here.

This has definitely been a great decision to have hospice helping us through this process. As I said before, we weren't exactly sure what to expect, but our entire family couldn't be more pleased.

I knew I didn't need to have any fear, for I know exactly where I'm going. With the Lord on my side and hospice being His arm, I wouldn't change a thing.

God bless you all.

Jennifer was amazing and explained the experience of hospice in a very positive way. She put me and our family at ease during a difficult period.

Every person we dealt with was fantastic. I have never dealt with a company and people that were so dependable and did just what they said. This company was a godsend!

I am a retired nurse, and for about six months, my father, who has lived with us for the last 25 years, has been declining. I reached out to VITAS, and in a matter of a day or two, hospice was in place.

All of my questions were answered. We were given all the support we needed from doctors and nurses, including one angel in particular. Thank you, beautiful Stacey.

But all of the staff—the nurses who came when he'd fall or suffer another TIA, the people who talked to us on video chat when we were in crisis and waiting for a nurse, EVERY SINGLE PERSON—gave us 110%.

The absolute greatest gift was me being able to be my father's daughter, NOT his nurse, which I did not have the energy to do. I, as a retired nurse, trusted every decision!!!!! From the bottom of my heart, I thank the whole team of people, from social worker to chaplain to medical equipment people to the kind person always on the other end of the phone calls I made.

May you never need hospice, but if you do, please consider VITAS. They were our everything for the 5.5 months we were on hospice.

I have been with VITAS for my husband a little over a week now. I have never met such a professional, caring team. From the nurses on call 24/7 to the weekly visits from an assigned nurse, plus others on call, I feel very secure.

Shout-out to my nurse, Donna, and NP Mary, who are so kind and patient. They are helping to make my stressful situation easier. I'd highly recommend them.

I'd like to express my utmost gratitude to the Lombard VITAS team for helping me care for my mother on her last journey. My mother was the strongest and a very independent woman. She had a hard time relying on others for care. She did not speak English and did not accept help from many. Her cancer diagnosis really challenged her in a brutal way.

Needless to say, I was unprepared for mom's final needs and felt deeply alone in my fight to keep her comfortable. Terri and her team patiently and gently communicated with me and helped me stand by my mother's side with the respect and love I wanted to give. The team and equipment I didn't know I needed simply appeared, and mom's final days got easier for her and for me.

Terri communicated with us from afar during the times Mom and I were still independent. She orchestrated our final days together with love and precision. There was a time she needed to leave our home and go back to the office for more supplies three or four times during one visit. She did not lose the upbeat approach for a second, and when I asked if she did not feel challenged, she simply said with a smile: "Your mom needs it, and I will find a way she gets care."

We started meeting her fantastic team during scheduled visits. The first month with VITAS allowed for Mom and I to have our warmest family routines with VITAS showing up to care for us both during scheduled checkups.

As soon as Mom needed more help, we started seeing our new friends more often. The final week of continuous care saved my sanity. Mom and I welcomed the 24-hour care with true amazement. I was encouraged to rest and eat, and I could do so while my VITAS friends continued staying by her side. I felt as if my family showed up to help. What a gift!

VITAS made sure Mom could speak with her caregivers and deployed Bozena, a Polish-speaking nurse, the gift from heaven. She switched shifts and stayed with us many nights in a row just to make our transition easier. I'd like to thank her for the sense of calm I felt seeing her coming through our door.

Ms. Barbara: Thank you for caring, for your kind and loving ways.

Nicki: For your respectful empathy.

Soni: For winning mom's heart and becoming her daughter and my sister during the final days.

Kim: Thank you for the coolest calm vibes!

Derin and Cedric: Thank you for grounding us through prayer.

Amy: Thank you for the amazement in your eyes when Mom did something small for herself/she felt your support!

Rachel: For all the advice/chats/checking on us and empathy that went beyond your work description.

Dr. A.: Thank you for your patience and never-stopping efforts to keep Mom comfortable on her last journey.

I will always cherish the memories I was able to make thanks to the gentle leadership of Dr. A., Terri, and her team. I recommend VITAS wholeheartedly.

Jorge, Theresa, doctor of VITAS, thank you for the peace of mind you have provided us. Thank you for staying by my grandmother's and my family's side in our time of need. It is difficult to imagine what hardship our family would've experienced without VITAS's support over the last seven years. Please accept my gratitude for treating and loving Mamita like family and for giving her the amazing quality of life she deserved.

I am forever grateful.
